Torremolinos has miles of the best beaches in Spain, The main beach areas of Torremolinos are situated below the town centre and can be accessed either by going the Calle San Miguel steps, Calle Mercedes, La Roca Steps, Steps by the Torremolinos cemeteryor by using one of the 2 pay lifts (1euro round trip)Situated just down from the cemetary or on Calle Mercedes by the side of Mata Hambre.
The beaches of Torremolinos are .....
Carrihuela Beach, (No specifically gay areas)
Down to the beach turn right and carry on along the promenade at the end of the beach. Here you will find sandy safe beaches, Cheringuitos and lots of faboulous fish restaurants. The waves can be a bit stronger here so take care when Bathing.

Bajondillo Beach The far end of the beach near to the rock has become the main gay beach area with El gato Beach and the beach area in front of Eden beach bar, Bajondillo beach is situated at the main central area at the bottom of Calle San Miguel, By the Hotels Costa del Sol Melhia and Apartotel Bajondillo, This is he busiest and has the most facilities, Water activities and beach bars, Food and restaurants. Some very unusual sand sculptures can be seen here (Unlee the police have nothing better to do than move them on). The promenade here is very popular with roller bladers so watch out,

Playamar Beach, (Featuring the Poseidon Beach which was the original gay beach ).
The Playamar beach stretches from around the Don Pablo Hotel as far as the Torremolinos Beach Club hotel, It is a busy beach area in the season but is ideal for a bit of quieter relaxation at other times, Plenty of beach bars and restaurants And of course right by the Tourist information office half way along the beach you will find Poseidon, The beach area attracts a mainly older gay and gay friendly clientelle (Due to the fact that in the late 80s the beach, bar and restaurant was owned and operated by 2 very flambouyant queens who would regularly do spontanious drag shows and the atmosphere was electric with lots of nudity, music dancing and Fun !!!Because of this reputation Poseidon has remained firmly enscribed in the gay guides for the last 30 or so years. The reality today is that although Poseidon is still "Gay friendly" it can also be rather family orientated ,Nowadays The beach itself is no longer managed by the Beach bar owners who are a very nice straight family and so the behaviour of the clientelle is a lot more reserved than it used to be (Shame !!!).But still worth a visit and if its a gay beach you want this is the original one.

Los Alamos Beach
Further along, Past the Torremolinos Beach club You will find the Los Alamos Beach, This area used to be relatively unspoilt and quiet but has been developed over the years and now boasts some of the trendiest Beach Bars in Torre. The Paseo Maritimo has been resurfaced and there is plenty of parking, Here you will also find La Moraga beach and lounge restaurant . It's gay owned and operated.

San Julian beach (Including campo golf)
Finally we have the San Julian Beach This beach officially starts where the coast road leaves the beach to go inland towards Plaza Mayor,The beach stretches towards Malaga and is uncrowded (Except at weekends when fanilies move big tents in and have Bar b Ques and parties, )The area is popular for water and wind sporting, Half way down the beach you will come to the Parador National (Hotel and golf Club), and just past there you will find the Nudist bathing area (Not official though), This of course can be cruisy but recently all the Foliage seems to have been cleared away so there is not much space for anything but looking. However if you walk further down towards Malaga, You will come to a cheringito and behind there is a small area of woodland which can be pretty interesting (Hurry though because the developers have their greedy little eyes on this area and it may soon become another Multiplex cinema or something..... On a final note if you visit this area you will notice the planes are flying very low above you as they come in and out of Malaga airport, Don't worry the passengers can only see you as alittle dot on the landscape, however when you are leaving Malaga airport at night it is interesting to look down and see how many car headlights just seen to be slowly moving around this area..

Cabopinoa Beach (Situated on N340 between Calahonda and Marbella)
Cabopino - Best & Biggest Gay Beach and Cruising area on the Costa del Sol . Situated just before Marbella, You can take a bus there but be prepared to walk a bit to the Beach area from the main road.If you go by car turn into the Car Park just before the entrance to the port, turn right and drive as far as you can go, It is a bit rough, But you will soon notice people cruising both in cars and on foot. Go to the end and park up. There are lots of wooded areas and you will see "Rushes", Go down to the beach, the gay unofficial gay area is at the end of the beach.the beach is a very natural nudist beach with lots of Dunes and sheltered areas. Take drinks and food with you if you plan to spend a long time there, T.Remember your sun protection for those parts which do not normally get exposed to the elements...
